The new internet crime method of choice is "Phishing". Phishing uses fraudulent email messages and fraudulent website to gather your personal information and steal your identy and your money.
Many of our members have been receiving emails that look like they come from our credit union affiliates. The MMFCU nor any of its affiliates will never send you an email asking you to enter your account information. If you received such a message, it is fraudulent and if you answer their questions or otherwise respond, you run the real risk that your money will be stolen from your account. If you ever receive any message from MMFCU that you feel may be suspicious, please feel free to contact us at 407 650-5050. The U.S. Government National Credit Union Administration has produced a brocure with more information on phishing. Click here to view the brochure.
