Kimberly Knabel receives her $5,000 Education Exchange 2009 College Grant from Deby Seymour, President of Multi Media Federal Credit Union.

With the support of Multi Media Federal Credit Union, a local young scholar was honored for her achievements in the Education Exchange 2009 College Grant Program. The Education Exchange is sponsored annually by the ACCEL/Exchange® Network, an electronic funds transfer network owned and operated by FiServ, Inc. Through the program, 34 high school seniors from across the country are selected to share a total of $50,000 in college grants. From an initial pool of thousands of applicants, grants of $1,000 and $5,000 are offered to students based upon scholastic achievement, community involvement, qualities of character and leadership, and financial need.

Kimberly Knabel of Winter Park is one of 4 national $5,000 Education Exchange 2009 College Grant winners. A graduate of Winter Park High School, Kimberly was a member of the National Honor Society, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Philharmonic Orchestra, Key Club and Beta Club, and Vice President of the Environmental Club. She has also volunteered extensively, including work with Winter Park Memorial Hospital and the Mead Garden Summer Nature Camp.

Kimberly will pursue her education at the University of Southern California with the goal of becoming an Environmental Engineer.
